Description

@iliabaranov

Hey, great work!

I'd love to help test this for support on Linux hosts, and with paper pro.
I have both, will test here report back :)

For instructions, suggest using venv instead on modern linux systems:

    python3 -m venv venv
    source venv/bin/activate
    pip install -r requirements.txt

Requirements install just fine on Ubuntu 24.04, program launches fine

Also nice that your app supports ssh key instead of password, if the password section is just left blank

Works great on the paper pro!

However, after power cycle, now failing to connect.
Even re-using your app, still unfortunately fails to connect:

BTW the app also seems to disconnect after a few minutes, is this expected? It always reconnects fine.

Restarting the keyboard still allows for re-connection, after about ~15 seconds of pairing process.
It seems to be an issue with restarting the Remarkable that breaks the pairing process.

SSH into the Remarkable, and following along with bluetoothctl showed that the keyboard was not yet "trust"-ed.
This seems to help, but still hit or miss.

These are the notes I have on bluetooth in general:

    modprobe btnxpuart
    bluetoothctl show

    bluetoothctl
    power on
    scan on
    pair <mac>
    connect <mac>
    trust <mac>

SSH forcing a reboot seems to help sometimes as well, but again not consistently...
