I'm experiencing a bug before the Tails section in Wave Ocean. After Sonic jumps from the last board and moves toward the whale, neither Sonic nor the whale plays the expected animation. The whale remains completely stationary while Sonic stays suspended in the air, causing the sequence to get stuck. I'm using the unmodified/original version of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) with Marathon Recompiled on Windows 11, with a Ryzen 5 5500U, Radeon Vega 7 and 8 GB of RAM. I tested the game at 30, 60 and 120 FPS, with VSync both enabled and disabled, but the issue persists. The rest of the game runs significantly more smoothly on Marathon Recompiled than through Xenia on my hardware. I've attached a screenshot showing the issue

Describe the Bug
After jumping off the last floating plank, Sonic heads towards the whale, but the animation doesn't start, preventing the level from continuing.
Steps to Reproduce
- Sonic runs through the automated section, running from the whale. 2. Sonic stays in the air jumping between floating planks. 3. Sonic jumps over the last plank, passes by the whale, but remains floating in the jumping animation indefinitely, making the level impossible to progress.
Expected Behavior
Sonic grabs the whale and enters the animation to begin the next section of the level.
