Describe the problem you would like to solve
If I want to find all records that have a GRID ID, I can put a * in the GRID ID condition (though that's not documented, about which more later). If I want to find all records that don't have a GRID ID, however, I can't seem to do that in the UI, although I can do the preceding search and then stick a Boolean NOT in the URL, e.g., https://demo.ror.org/search?query.advanced=NOT+(external_ids.all%3A*+AND+external_ids.type%3Agrid)

Don't know! :) I rather like the "Where" button in the Advanced Search modal, and I think solving this would entail changing that button to something that supported a NOT search initially, which isn't necessarily a good idea
