OpenML API returning 504 Gateway Timeout errors #404

First of all, thanks both for sharing your experiences and sorry for the slow reply. We have had some intermittent outages over the last months, and are working on resolving the underlying issues which kept us busy. In the mean time, we have already successfully gradually lowered the downtime of the website and API to the point where any outages that do occur have been limited to a few minutes at best.
Since this is an issue with server infrastructure and not with the website itself (which is what this issue tracker is for), and since it is also largely mitigated by now, I am going to close this issue. Should you experience similar issues in the future please reach out on our Slack server or create an issue in REST API or openml-python repository, depending on which API you used to connect to the server. That way it will reach the right people faster, thanks!

I am having issues accessing the OpenML API. The main OpenML website (https://www.openml.org/) is working normally, but API requests consistently return a
504 Gateway Time-outerror.Although the website itself loads correctly, I am unable to download any datasets. Dataset downloads fail with the same
504 Gateway Time-outerror from nginx.I tested this using both the OpenML Python package and direct HTTP requests and the issue occurs across different environments.
Because the API requests are timing out, the OpenML Python package is unable to retrieve tasks or datasets.
Could you please check if there is an issue with the API backend?
