Plugin fails to load on GIMP AppImage: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'aihordeclient'

I've downloaded the latest version and installed it. I'm getting the following errors and it doesn't load:

Hi there, thanks for using the plugin. Please let me know operating system and gimp version, and if maybe you are using a portable version of Gimp.

I first tried it with GIMP 3.0.4 (appimage) on Ubuntu 25.10. I just tried again with GIMP 3.2.4 (appimage) on Ubuntu 26.04, same issue.

After some investigation, here's a proper issue report:

Title: Plugin fails to load on GIMP AppImage: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'aihordeclient'

Environment:

• GIMP 3.2.4 (AppImage)
• OS: Ubuntu 26.04
• Plugin version: 3.3

Description:

The plugin fails to load entirely when GIMP is run as an AppImage, with the following error:

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'aihordeclient'

Root Cause:

In gimp-stable-diffusion.py, the submodule path is resolved using Gimp.directory():

expected_dir = Path(Gimp.directory()) / "plug-ins" / "gimp-stable-diffusion"
submodule_path = expected_dir / "module"

When GIMP runs as an AppImage, Gimp.directory() returns a path inside the AppImage mount (e.g. /tmp/.mount_GIMP-3.../...) rather than the user's plugin directory. As a result, sys.path.append(str(submodule_path)) appends a non-existent path, and Python cannot find aihordeclient.

Fix:

Resolve the submodule path relative to __file__, which always points to the actual location of the running script regardless of the GIMP execution environment:

expected_dir = Path(__file__).parent
submodule_path = expected_dir / "module"

This correctly resolves to the module/ subdirectory alongside gimp-stable-diffusion.py in all environments, including AppImage, Flatpak, and standard installations.

Note: The expected_dir variable is also referenced in the import_message_error string, so this change keeps that error message accurate as well.

I downloaded a 3.2 AppImage and this is what I see as plugin-directories, When I had some plugins in GIMP-3, those were copied to 3.2 and I was able to use it correctly.

Please let me know which dirs you have listed in your case.
