zdis under heavy development. Expect fast changes while the workbench settles.
ZenSuite’s zd is an intentionally minimal, local Markdown and agent workbench. It began with the
rendered Markdown reader/editor I wanted for my own daily work, then grew projects, terminal threads,
files, and Git around that surface. It purposefully matches how I build and may not fit everyone.
Download the Apple Silicon or Intel DMG, or the Windows x64 setup executable, and its checksum from the latest release.
Current macOS builds are ad-hoc signed but not Developer ID signed or notarized. If macOS shows “zd” Not Opened after the checksum passes, choose Done, then use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. The macOS installation guide has the complete recovery path. Current Windows installers are not code signed; see the Windows installation guide before accepting a SmartScreen warning.

creates it on the first successful save.
- Rendered, directly editable Markdown with document typography, local images, tables, fenced code, Mermaid diagrams, Find/Replace, Raw Mode, Focus Mode, and Typewriter Mode.
- Selected-text comments that stay beside the Markdown and regenerate a worktree-root
zd-feedback.txthandoff for a person or coding agent. - Clipboard image paste that saves the screenshot below
docs/screenshotsand inserts its relative link into the current Markdown or plain-text file. - Several approved projects and Git worktrees, with shortcuts to switch projects and the current thread/file without stopping inactive terminal sessions.
- Project-scoped terminal threads for a shell, Codex, Claude Code, or OpenCode workflow.
- A compact file tree, common code/configuration editing, and bounded large-file states.
- Read-only Git status, commit history, revision comparison, and file diffs.
- Current Light, Dark, Dracula, Homebrew, validated local theme files, and per-surface overrides.
- A global quick-access shortcut that reuses the running workbench.
- Optional local diagnostics. Desktop completion notifications and sounds are opt-in and currently available on macOS.
Hold Cmd+. on macOS or Ctrl+. elsewhere for the live shortcut reference. Focus Mode, completion
sound, desktop notifications, and local diagnostics are off by default.
