🏔️ A new overview for Ruby's vast gems, from up here we can spot them all.
Run bin/setup, then bin/dev. See DEVELOPMENT for more.
Peak is the Rails app that powers the gem.coop service.
We want to make Peak the best gem server for any Ruby developer or company to use, by providing fast, community-owned, transparent, sustainable, and secure gem hosting for everyone. We aim to be compatible with Bundler, but optimized for the next generation.
The Gem Cooperative is a group of open-source developers building and maintaining the gem.coop service, founded by the team that maintained and operated rubygems.org from 2012 to 2025.
We love pull requests. Check out the development docs to get started.
Peak requires the Single CLA for contributions. The Single CLA ensures we keep the option to add other licenses for Peak, like MIT, or paid corporate plans.
You can cover your contribution in either of two ways:
- For one PR, include this exact line in the pull request description:
I agree that the Single CLA applies to this pull request. - For this and future PRs to projects that accept Single CLA, fork the Single CLA repo to your GitHub account as
singleclaand use the GitHub web UI to commit your signature.
If the CLA is missing, the PR will get a friendly bot comment and a cla needed label. If you use the one-PR sentence, the bot adds a thumbs-up reaction and removes the label. If you sign the Single CLA fork after the label was added, add this exact pull request comment so the workflow checks again: I have signed the Single CLA.
Peak is licensed under the AGPLv3. All the code we have published will stay open and free, forever, no matter what other licenses we might add later.
A non-GPL corporate license is also available. For details, contact us at support@gem.coop.
