Stamps 5.5.3 in package.json and src/jetstream/VERSION ahead of tagging v5.5.3, the way #5832, #5839, #5858, #5867 and #5870 did for the releases before it. make stamp tag derives the tag and its line guard from package.json, so this has to land on develop before the tag is created.

Patch, not minor: no feat: commit landed since v5.5.2, and on this line even features have shipped as patches (v5.4.1 carried two).

Pre-tag checks against 9ac69623e2:

  • ./build/release-notes.sh assemble validates and prints the notes — Bug Fixes, Maintainability, Chores.
  • make changelog reports 16 dependency bumps in v5.5.2..HEAD with no uncovered-bump warning.
  • All 22 pull requests merged since v5.5.2 have a fragment in changelog.d/; the 15 fragments on disk all landed after the v5.5.2 sweep.
  • Local packaging smoke test on macOS — make build frontend, make build backend, make build backend PLATFORM=linux/amd64, then make release cf github aio VERSION=v5.5.3 — produced 9 artifacts with all checksums verified. Nothing from that run is uploaded; CI rebuilds its own.
