  • Overview of the Project:

Automated testing of multiple functionalities in an e-commerce platform using Cypress. Focus on core features: Login, Registration, Cart, Checkout, and Navigation. Purpose: Ensure smooth user experience for these key functionalities. Validate correct behavior for all user interactions.

  • TEST SCOPE

Key Functionalities

Tested:Login Ensure users can log in with valid credentials.

Registration Validate user registration process and form submission.

Cart Test adding, updating, and removing products from the cart.

Checkout Verify the checkout process including payment and order summary.

Navigation Ensure smooth navigation between pages, such as product listing, cart, and checkout.

  • CYPRESS SETUP

installation:

npm install cypress to install Cypress.

Open Cypress with npx cypress open.

Structure:

Tests placed in /cypress/e2e directory.

Use of Page Object Model (POM) for better organization and maintainability of test code.

  • PAGE OBJECT MODEL (POM)

POM Overview:Organize test steps for login, registration, cart, and checkout actions into separate classes.

Why POM?

Promotes code reusability and cleaner tests. Easy to update locators and test actions across multiple test files.
