Welcome, digital pilgrim!

Thank you for stopping by, 👼 :suspect:, but my productivity 👸 is in another castle...

DISCLAIMER: The views expressed on this page are my own and do not represent any opinions of my employer, past or present.

You won't find here anything particularly exiting here...

Most of my scattered {educational / scientific / programming} output exists either in local private git repos or censored worse. I steadily reviewing the part I can legally open-source to move it here. Even giving recent GitHub uptime and all the news with cybersecurity issues around the planet, it's probably worth having some meek imitation of a portfolio at least. I wish relocating my 😩 physical shell would be as easy as taming my digital chaos feels so far.

sudo career status

  1. Tiding-up dangling research projects:
  • wrapping-up (open-sourceable) toolkit involved into distinct repos;
  • supervising and co-advising our small seismonia team;
  • while keeping attempts to find a proper postdoc where I can do something worthy.
  1. Learning Rust with the focus on GPUI framework:
  • after I discovered Zed blog, there might be light in another tunnel;
  • yet as of now I certainly not particularly valuable for their team;
  • but it is in my power to change that - perhabs in the matter of 6--12 months!
  1. Building a digital renaissance portfolio.
Project Description
Volcanic seismicity 'golden dataset' based @ GitXP My "swan-song" scientific project is the structured regimentation of unique (meta+)data. I'm rather close to the creation of a volcanic seismicity 'golden dataset'. Once done - I assume it would be very much appreciated by the machine learning crowd: both the real enjoyers and those desperate to cast their neural nets on anything:) However, I still figuring out final idea for the data systematization "system". I've had stuck mentally with my original vision but now thanks to this blog post I've discovered CRDT concepts! So maybe I should split a more philosophical part of my existing draft into separate direction with VACUITY cognitive basis, while keeping 'golden dataset' less tied to these far-outreaching concepts? The giga-chad move would be to turn it into a completely open-sourced scientific paper and write in public. Sure it can lead to someone 'stealing' my awesome ideas but in reality - who would even care? People of questionable ethics are probably too busy gambling with prompts and wasting electrical power to produce more CO2 with vanity projects no-one in the real world cares about (like this example). On the other hand - a paper written in open-source format would allow people who really care to contribute and collaborate!

BTW - You won't find here any mindlessly AI-generated slop either!

PROCLAIMER to disclaimer above for potential employers: you may financially contract my professional rigor, but integrity is something a scientist cannot sell - only destroy.

Don't get it wrong - I admire research scientists who leverage LLMs and AI-agents to ethically do something worthy - anything that moves society and civilization to a better place. But if you call yourself a data "scientist" and don't have a clue about "digital alchemy" happening beneath you nice Python wrappers - please don't pretend like your RecSys is doing something good for humanity. People who do it for money and admit it I don't have a problem with, I just detest hypocrisy. Need I mention that prompt-gambling "vibe coding" - regardless if it's easy-profit-focused or for pure vanity - is absolutely disgraceful and in fact actually harmful? Well, that would make sense if you think about the cost of you tokens not in terms of $-paid and XXx-productivity multipliers (applied to zero-competence of the ones usually bragging about these multipliers), but as the amount of CO2 you indebt everyone with. However I doubt anyone doing that is even able to contemplate it amidst the fog of AI-obsession...
