Hi Django-MFA team:

We have been using Django-mfa in our Django application for a few years without issue. Recently, we have encountered the following issue:

The barcode is not loading when trying to enable the MFA in a Django application, it seems the following is not accessible anymore:

We are currently using the django_mfa-3.2.

You can use https://image-charts.com/ instead of https://chart.apis.google.com/

Fixed in 4.0. The provisioning QR pointed the browser straight at chart.apis.google.com, which Google decommissioned — so this was broken for everyone, not just you.

It is now rendered server-side as an inline SVG data URI (django_mfa/templatetags/otp_tags.py), which means enrollment no longer depends on any third-party host being reachable, or even existing. No image-charts.com substitution needed.

Heads up if you're coming from 3.2: 4.0 was a ground-up rewrite with breaking changes to models, URLs, session keys and settings. See docs/upgrading.md before you take it.
