Incorrect OTA image for Sonoff MINI-ZBRBS #1272

Open

Description

@Mr1008

Recently an OTA started to be available for Sonoff MINI-ZBRBS.
Original firmware version is 1.0.5 (20250711) while the offered one is 1.1.0

The offered one:

{
  "installed_version": 4101,
  "latest_release_notes": "- Added support for Imperial gallons.\n- Fixed several RTC and battery reporting issues.\n- Improved Bluetooth connection reliability by automatically disconnecting after prolonged inactivity.",
  "latest_source": "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Koenkk/zigbee-OTA/master/images/Sonoff/SN-TLSR8656-SWV1C-01-v1.1.0.ota",
  "latest_version": 4352,
  "state": "available"
}

The file name and release notes look very weird, model in the filename does not seem to match MINI-ZBRBS and release notes do not make sense - e.g. bluetooth, gallons?

Anyway, I tried to update one device to verify but INVALID_IMAGE error is returned:
error: z2m: OTA update of '...' failed (OTA update of 0x... failed with reason: INVALID_IMAGE).

    I can independently reproduce this with both device types in the same Zigbee2MQTT installation:

    • SONOFF MINI-ZBRBS roller shutter: installed version 4101 (1.0.5), offered version 4352 (1.1.0)
    • SONOFF SWV-ZFE water valve: installed version 4103 (1.0.7), offered version 4352 (1.1.0)

    For both devices Zigbee2MQTT selects exactly the same image:

    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Koenkk/zigbee-OTA/master/images/Sonoff/SN-TLSR8656-SWV1C-01-v1.1.0.ota

    The release notes about Imperial gallons, RTC/battery reporting and Bluetooth clearly belong to the water valve. I did not start the update on the shutter.

    The corresponding index entry has manufacturerCode: 4742 and imageType: 8204, but no modelId restriction. It therefore appears that the valve and the MINI-ZBRBS expose the same OTA manufacturer/image-type combination and the generic OTA matcher selects the valve image for both devices.

    A possible fix would be to restrict this OTA entry to the SWV-ZFE/SWV-ZFU model IDs (or otherwise add device-specific matching), so it is no longer offered to the MINI-ZBRBS.

    Yeah, the filename of the image tells exactly it's SWV1C water valve. I have one test shutter device, so I gave this one a shot and yeah, INVALID_IMAGE says it all.
