[FEATURE][KiCAD/KiBOT] Update of KiBOT v2_k9@latest image to KiCAD 9.0.9 release

KiCAD published a new release -> 9.0.9. Will this release be available as action tag in feature commits (in the next months) or skipped (in cause of the new KiCAD 10 release)?

Does it have some important feature? Is it less buggy than 9.0.7?
The way KiCad is developed (using aggressive cherry picking from the master (unstable) branch) is not reliable.
I won't take the risk to introduce new bugs unless some feature justifies it.

It seems to be a bug-fix release. For example the schematic editor contains following fixes:

• Fix inverted group bus members lost from connectivity. #23521
• Fix bus name mangling with overbar/subscript/superscript formatting. #22873
• Fix escaped net names shown in Unfold from Bus menu. #22872
• Preserve formatting markers in bus name prefix during parsing. #23615

The board editor also fixes some things:

• Fix crash when moving via with interactive router shoving vias against PCB edge. #23449
• Prevent array tool from placing objects on top of one another. #22669
• Prevent zone priority changes on each refill. #23473

The probleme therefore is always if developers work with e.g. 9.0.9 and KiBOT is running with 9.0.7 there are sometimes some erc/drc or missing/incorrect footprint/libraries failures between the versions which will break the build process if erc/drc checks are enabled. And most people i think will download the latest version (for KiCAD9 -> 9.0.9).

I understand that this will take time and isn't always necessary, therefore it's more of a feature request than a strictly necessary update. So in my opinion, an update is not absolutely necessary but maybe desirable?

Most, if not all, the fixed bugs are related to the GUI, with no impact in generated outputs.

Is true that KiCad developers like to introduce unneeded changes to the libs making quite often to get a mismatch. This is why you should use KiBot filters to ignore lib mismatches on CI/CD, or even better: make your project self contained. I agree that having the last version of the libs might help.

Currently the last version available on Debian is 9.0.8, I'll see if 9.0.9 is released.

Finally, I forgot to mention:

• Fix incorrect conversion from string to double when saving project as. #22564
• Prevent progress dialog message from being clipped.

Indeed most things are related to the GUI. Filters do help, but they also always leave a certain degree of uncertainty as to whether the design will work correctly when built with KiBOT. Therefore, I personally try to resolve the errors/warnings and keep the use of filters to a minimum.

Probably 9.0.9 will be available on Debian the next time and perhaps it will be published in a feature KiBOT release...

Just to illustrate the poor quality of KiCad releases: KiCad 9.0.9 removed WRL files from their distribution and from the repository.

So boards that used WRL 3D models, and perfectly rendered on 9.0.8, now doesn't show 3D models!!!!

Is this a maintenance release?

I can't make docker images of KiCad 9.0.9 until KiBot 1.9.1 is released.
I created them, but won't be "latest" until 1.9.1.
This is because the code must workaround the lack of WRL files.
And I suspect this is not the only bug they introduced.

The KiCAD 9.0.9 is a bug fix release. If boards are using *.wrl files it will be necessary to update footprints from library and reset 3D models (see image).

Currently i design pcb´s with 9.0.9 and in most cases it is working with the current KiBot k9 action release. Sometimes there are some unpredictable drc errors (e.g. footprint missmatch) but that currently can be handled with filters. In my oppinion it´s not necessary to update KiBot to 9.0. 9 (with latest tag) but it would be very nice to implement the 9.0.9 in future releases (for KiBot 1.9.1 to latest).
