This PR adds a comprehensive
.github/copilot-instructions.mdfile that provides GitHub Copilot coding agents with detailed instructions on how to work effectively in the mtsv codebase. What's Included
The instructions cover all essential development workflows with fully validated commands and precise timing expectations:
Prerequisites & Setup
.node-versionfilepackage.jsonpackageManager fieldBuild & Test Workflows
pnpm run build(~4 seconds) using tsdown/rolldownpnpm run test(~3 seconds) - the preferred way for repo-wide testingpnpm run lint(~1.1 seconds) with prettier and sherifpnpm run dev --filter mtsvwith watch functionality using correct pnpm filter syntaxCLI Validation Scenarios
The instructions include specific manual validation steps for the TypeScript minimum version finder CLI:
Critical Documentation
pnpm run command --filter package)Validation Process
Every single command, timing estimate, and workflow in the instructions has been exhaustively tested from clean repository state multiple times to ensure reliability. The instructions follow the imperative tone requirement ("Run this command", "Do not do this") and provide agents with everything needed to work productively in the codebase without trial and error.
The instructions avoid hardcoded version numbers to prevent staleness and use the correct pnpm workspace filter syntax for better monorepo workflow consistency.
