BUG: v0.16.1-pre (Opti 0.9.3 final) - RDNA3 falling back to FSR3 but showing FSR4.1.1

There is a bug where the Opti menu is showing that 4.1.1 is working, but the watermark shows the accurate FSR which is FSR3 which it is falling back to (on RDNA3.5 Rog Ally Z1E).

The real FSR is shown when the watermark is enabled in the menu.

I'm not sure, if it is fixed with Opti 0.9.4 because it didn't work for me. I think the Proton Experimental leaked build is also for RDNA3 on Linux.

I have the same issue with the same device on Witcher 3. I enabled fsr4.1.1 but watermark shows as fsr 3. I am using SteamOS

I'm using the Bazzite system on my OnexPlayer F1 Pro. I installed [v0.16.3-pre] on Bazzite and tested it with Monster Hunter Wilds. After selecting the "4.1.1 RDNA2 Mod", the game would freeze before even reaching the Capcom logo screen.

However, if I then directly switch to Windows 11 on the same device, the game starts up normally and FSR 4.1.1 takes effect immediately. Since the game data is shared between the two systems (they access the same files), any file modifications made in one system are also available in the other.

The current issue is: OptiScaler injected under Bazzite fails to launch the game, but under Windows 11 it works perfectly. That's really strange.

I'm also experiencing this on a mini PC running Bazzite which has an 8745HS CPU (hawk point) and integrated RDNA 3.0 780M GPU (phoenix).

It seems like the mobile variants are having trouble with fsr4.

My version information if it helps:

Mesa : 26.1.3

So far I've tried it in Baldur's Gate 3 and it exhibited the reporting FSR 4.1.1 in the optiscaler interface and overlay but showing FSR3 in the watermark

Using the 4.1.1 RDNA 2 Mod runtime appears to work with the watermark reporting FSR4-I8 Upscale 4.1.1.

Not sure what exactly is going on but this configuration works at least as far as I've found so far for BG3 and Hitman World of Assassination with presumably not game limited compatibility.

It’s true that it works with the RDNA2 version—at least with some games; with others, like Silent Hill 2, it crashes on launch. In any case, the performance is odd; I don't see any difference compared to version 4.0.2c.

Manually replacing the current optiscale files from the 0.16.3-pre release of decky-framegen with the 0.9.4-pre4 release of optiscale has fsr4 4.1.1 working with the newly added Fsr4ForceEnableInt8 option set to true and without manually replicating the RDNA 2 patch like with the decky-framegen preset. For now I can do the install manually. If you don't know which files to overwrite for this bodge then it's probably worth waiting for an official update.

So, it looks like this issue should be resolved at least on mobile RDNA 3.0, like I have, in the next full release of both optiscale and decky-framegen
