Camera not working on HP EliteBook X Flip G2i 14 inch Notebook Next Gen AI PC (D89S4ET#AKD) (Panther Lake)

I've got new HP laptop, logs say sensor is supported, but camera is not working.

Browser doesn't see camera either.

I am using ubuntu 26.04, currently testing kernel 7.1-rc3, though 7.0 from, ubunt has same issue.

Working here on the sibling board: HP EliteBook X G2i 14" (non-Flip, board 8E86, OV05C10 on IPU7.5), Arch Linux.

"No sensor found for /dev/media0" was our symptom too. The cause on our board: the in-tree ipu-bridge table lists one link frequency (480 MHz) for OVTI05C1, and this module runs at 900 MHz. Without that entry the sensor probes but no media graph forms. With the extra bridge entry plus module load order (softdep intel_ipu7 pre: intel_cvs ...), the camera works two ways:

1. libcamera's software ISP with a small ov05c10 patch set. Works, but colour drifts with the lighting.
2. Intel's CamHAL hardware ISP at release 20260327_1 (HAL + bins + icamerasrc pinned together). Works well; newer releases give black frames on this sensor (Release for CCG kernel v6.18.3 on 2026-02-04 #48). This is now our default.
