The idea of the zoomed-out mode is so everything stays clear when wanting to see the big picture.
This is what it looks like before switching modes:
Not very readable, maybe you can make it out if you squint a bit. I think it could activate a bit earlier.
Also, when it switches, the forwards keep small:
When zooming out it is even harder to read, while the big picture gets more clear:
- I would suggest making the text scale a bit with the zoom level, if possible. So texts keeps readable even when completely zoomed out.
- I would remove the attribute values. It misses some information and can get ugly with long values. I don't think they improve anything. So just name would probably be best.
