Describe the feature
Unfinished code and textures for hexcaster armor have been sitting around in the files for ages. We should actually get around to implementing it!
As far as I'm aware, there were two main reasons it didn't get finished:
- we couldn't get the models working ingame
- we couldn't think of anything for it to do beyond a "boring" media discount
Here are some effects I think we could potentially add to it beyond a media discount (though it probably shouldn't do all of these):
- built in scrysight on the helmet (honestly this feels like a given)
- increased grid size
- increased player ambit
- consume armor durability instead of health when overcasting
- consume media from inventory instead of losing durability
- passively refill media holders in inventory
- repair it with the Recharge spell
As for the models, I don't really know too much about how that whole system works, but I do know that Spectrum/Pastel has custom armor models so we could look at how they do it. If all else fails, we could also just make a vanilla-style flat armor texture, though that might look kinda goofy for the helmet.
